Sandbanks Beach Poole, DorsetSandbanks Beach is around a 15 minute drive from Tanglewood Holiday Park. At Sandbanks you will find endless sandy beaches and stunning scenery. Believe it or not, Sandbanks is the 4th most expensive place to live in the world! with properties selling for around the £10 million mark! From Sandbanks you can get the ferry across to the Purbecks. |
SwanageSwanage is a town on the Purbeck Coast Line known as the Jurassic Coast, and is approximately 25 minutes drive from Tanglewood Park. Swanage and the surrounding areas are well known for its outstanding natural beauty. With such attractions to offer as historic buildings, sports, the seaside and Corfe Castle, the Isle of Purbeck really does have something for everyone. Situated at the eastern end of the Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site. The attractive town of Swanage hosts an array of interesting shops and plenty of places to eat and drink, cosy tea rooms serving Dorset cream teas, hearty pub grub, continental cuisine to eat in or take away, seafood specialities and traditional fish and chips. |
Wareham ForestOnly 5 minutes from Tanglewood Holiday Park, Wareham Forest offers stunning scenery and open spaces of heathland and pine woodland to enjoy. The Sika Trail is a particularly popular tracked route throughout the forest which is mainly flat enabling suitability for walkers and cyclists. |
WarehamWareham is a thriving market town, with many shops cafes and pubs to enjoy. This popular town has a market every Saturday on the quay. You can feed the ducks as well as take a boat out on to the river to enjoy the wildlife which surrounds the river. |
The New ForestThe New Forest is around a 30 minute drive from Tanglewood, and there is something for everyone! Whether you are looking to relax, explore, shop, or just enjoy, The New Forest is the ideal location. |
Lulworth EstateThe Lulworth Estate is approximately a 20 minute drive from Tanglewood, and is well known for its cove made famous for its horse shoe shape. The beaches are all pebbled and most are easily accessible. Within the estate you will also find the stunning castle and grounds to explore. |
Poole Quay and TownPoole Harbour, Dorset in the South of England features the second largest natural harbour in the world (after Sydney) and is fast becoming the St Tropez of the South Coast as lucrative investment spreads along the harbour from Sandbanks, Canford Cliffs and Lilliput, and is only a 10 minute drive from Tanglewood Park. The town also has shops along its high street and an indoor shopping centre. From Poole Quay you could choose to take a pleasant short boat trip across to Brownsea Island. |
Brownsea IslandBrownsea Island is accessed via a short boat ride from Poole Harbour. The island which is famous for being the home of the endangered red squirrel and offers a haven for the Sika deer, peacocks, and wadding birds. The island has beautiful landscapes to enjoy and the views over the Purbeck hills are stunning. |
